Our Purpose
Our purpose is to utilize children’s natural and intrinsic sense of wonder and curiosity to create engaging, joyful, and enriching academic experiences that help them realize and fulfill their dreams and passions.
Who We are
Meraki Learning Center is a full time modern home-schoolhouse, enrichment center, camp and event space. We build partnerships between families, teachers and the community to create a unique alternative to education in an environment where children feel understood and can learn at their full potential.
Intellectual Curiosity
We promote our students' zest for learning and the courage to take risks. Our engaging curriculum inspires our students to be intellectually curious and to utilize their passions to creatively innovate and live with integrity and compassion within our community. This approach supports students in becoming lifelong learners who can question, discover, and make connections. Our goal is to deepen their ability to be resourceful learners while increasing their executive functioning which is one of the leading factors in future success.
Joyful Passion
Students' passions are our guiding light and directs us toward rewarding outcomes, where a child's sense of wonder and desire to learn thrive. We do this by exploring each individual student's passions and hobbies in order to create a meaningful curriculum that interests them. We find children are more willing to challenge themselves to their full academic potential when learning is pertinent.
Community
Students at Meraki have a deep sense of community and connection. They participate in a broad array of diverse activities both in and out of the classroom. Our charismatic and energetic teachers, mentors, and coaches through their offerings and understanding of the “whole child,” create a true sense of belonging built on partnerships and relationships with our families and local community.
The magic of the word “Meraki” means to do something with soul, creativity or love: to put something of yourself into anything you do with passion, devotion and presence. We believe that creative inquiry is essential to learning.
